• Crew

  CAPTAIN GRANT

  Born and raised in Durban, on the east coast of South Africa, Grant lived around the water and mountains experiencing all aspects of the outdoors while growing up. Family vacations and weekends were spent participating in water sports, fishing, and riding off-road motorcycles.
  Looking for opportunity elsewhere, he gravitated towards yachting. Having a strong background with water sports and boats he found no difficulty adapting to the new lifestyle which began in the South of France working on super yachts. He then moved to the BVI to work on catamarans and realized that the interactions with guests and being a part of something bigger, someone’s happiness and memorable moments were really what drove him.
  Outside of yachting, Grant’s other passions are kitesurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and golf. He looks forward to sharing those activities and stories with guests.

  CHEF ULRIKA

  Ulrika was born in the northern part of Finland. As a child, she would often go sailing with a family friend and was always fascinated by the sea. Every summer Ulrika spent months in the Swedish archipelago at her grandmother’s villa. Her grandmother grew everything herself: a variety of different food crops, vegetables, herbs, fruit, and berries. Her grandmother hosted countless beautiful family feasts, bringing the whole family together outdoors in her beautiful garden. Her grandmother’s cooking and lifestyle built the foundation for Ulrika’s interest in food and cooking at a young age.
  While Ulrika was in high school, she went on an exchange year in Thailand where she spent the year living with a local family and learning about the culture and the language. During her time in Thailand, she also fell in love with the local cuisine. Ulrika soon realized how much she loved traveling and exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines. A lot of Ulrika’s cooking takes influences from Asian cuisines.
  A few years later she got accepted into one of the world’s top-ranking art universities in Helsinki, Finland to study product design. During these years she would often find herself catering for events, exhibitions, and vernissages and always dreaming of and planning the next adventure. She moved to Stockholm, Sweden, and ended up working in tech for some years. She longed for a change and decided to pick up her sailing skills and took a sailing course in Tenerife. After rediscovering her childhood dreams of sailing and falling in love with the sea all over again she decided to take a close friend’s advice and combine her love for the sea and cooking.

  Grant and Ulrika met in the Bahamas while working on a yacht and Grant quickly swept her off her feet while sweeping the floors around her. Grant and Ulrika have teamed up and enjoyed experiencing the sweeter things of life while creating unforgettable memories for their guests. They have quickly become an inseparable team and a well-oiled machine, working together seamlessly. They are excited to be on a journey together and looking forward to welcoming guests aboard Unwavering.

  AMAZING

  AMAZING-pretty much the perfect crew. They are young and happy, experienced and energetic, thoughtful and caring. They managed everything as if it were nothing, all the while making sure we had everything we needed and more. The first day when I went down to our cabin and saw that the bed was made- I thought- OMG this is really over the top!
  They are fun to be with, manage the crew/guest relationship really well- and for guests who are sailors, and alert to all the stuff that goes into managing a boat and sailing and and and- they did it all with ease and quiet communication and confidence.
  Plus, the boat itself is really pretty awesome. Very comfortable, well designed, accommodating. We got to do a lot of sailing (hooray!) and that was great.
  The chef is truly an amazing cook. The time and energy she puts into her meals- her presentation, the quality, all of it is very yummy and impressive.

  Spoiled All Week!

  From the moment we arrived and were given a glass of bubbly to start our adventure on Unwavering, we knew the crew would spoil us all week! Such a wonderful time full of surprises and luxury. From the Molten Brown, goodie bags, right through to the sushi extravaganza on the last night! Thank you for a great vacation in the BVI!!

  Words truly fall short in adequately describing our time on Unwavering! This week has filled our hearts, souls and bellys 😀! What a privilege to spend time in God's creation in the company of friends and our new friends . We are leaving with lifetime memories, rested, restored and I am SO grateful. Thank you to the crew for the gracious hospitality, attention to details, warmth and patience for this girls trip!   Exceeded All of My Expectations!

  Unwavering has absolutely exceeded all of my expectations! We arrived on Sunday for our best friends 40th Birthday trip, The crew greeted us with open arms as if we were immediately family. The moment we stepped on board paradise began. We enjoyed the most relaxing vacation of swimming, snorkelling, e-foiling, hanging out in the “Cheerio”, late night puzzles and spades. We experienced the most delicious meals we’ve ever had! Thank you for the best girls trip vacation and the best way to celebrate our girl turning 40! We loved Crew & Unwavering. Until next time!

  Impossible to Top

  My first charter and trip to the BVIs will now be impossible to top, thanks to you! With us all being moms with young kids, this trip provided much needed solace and escape from our typical roles and an opportunity to recharge while savouring God’s creation - what a rare gift that I will always cherish! This crew are unmatched, their warmth and attention to detail allowed us to breather and truly relax. My favourite memories of the week are the “moana” moments whilst sailing, sharing tears, laughter and moments around the table over INCREDIBLE food, learning to snorkle and puzzles on the top deck.
