Meet Bryan, Sea Axis’s respected Captain with an uncanny knack for creating unforgettable marine adventures. His journey from a sports management graduate of Lynn University to a maritime professional holding 350 GT and 500 Marshall Islands licenses exemplifies his dedication and skilled approach. Hailing from Bloomington, Illinois, Bryan’s formative years were a blend of sports and outdoor pursuits, with a later transition into yachting that began a decade ago. His varied career path, comprehending experiences in wine retail, valet management, and even construction, fortifies his capability as Sea Axis’s leading man.
Today, he manages extensive trip planning, ensures safety, and promotes an engaging atmosphere for guests and crew alike. His achievements include an inventive accolade from the Newport Boat Show and adventures across the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the United States East Coast. Bryan lives by the mantra that embracing uniqueness leads to unforgettable experiences, a philosophy he fluidly integrates into every Sea Axis voyage.
FIRST MATE MARTHINUS
Meet Marthinus, Sea Axis’ First Mate, combining maritime know-how with boundless enthusiasm. Originating from Senekal, South Africa, his love for the outdoors and active lifestyle led him into yachting, guided by a captain from his hometown in 2020. With a rich background including various sports and bilingual fluency in Afrikaans and English, Marthinus is an engaging crew member who elevates the onboard experience.
His career has seen him move from a deckhand on vessels like Fore Aces, Lady Sandals, and Lone Star, to his current role on Sea Axis. Outside yachting, he’s been an Au Pair in Texas and taught English in South Korea and Vietnam. He holds a B.Comm in Sports and Recreation Management, a Yachtmaster 200GT, Powerboat Level 2, and PWC certification. Marthinus is not just about maintaining the ship’s exterior to perfection; he brings a positive spirit that complements every voyage.
Having journeyed along the U.S. East Coast and between Florida and the Bahamas, Marthinus favors the stunning Exumas for charter trips. When not at sea, he enjoys photography, exploring cuisines, golf, and quality time with family and friends around the grill or a fire. Ambitiously planning to captain 70-100 foot yachts and retire by 45 with a focus on real estate investments, he lives by the motto, “Upwards and onwards.”

CHEF NELSON
Chef Nelson hails from Queens, New York. After high school, he joined the US Army, dedicating six years to active service. Post-military life led him to study finance at the University of Central Illinois, but he quickly realized it wasn’t for him. Embracing a pivot, Nelson switched paths to pursue his culinary passion, which sparked a globe-trotting career. He’s cooked on motor yachts as a temporary chef for four years, and then mastered the kitchens of the Leeward and Windward islands for another year. When he’s not whipping up dishes, you’ll find him fishing, boating, diving, working out, traveling, or enjoying time with his loved ones.
CHIEF STEWARDESS CATHERINE
Meet Catherine, an exceptional Chief Stewardess on the Sea Axis yacht. Hailing from Boston, she’s spent the past three months elevating guest experiences with outstanding hospitality.
A Roger Williams University alum, Catherine graduated from the Gabelli School of Business in 2016. She’s also a qualified wine expert with WSET Levels 1 and 2, and a certified Level 2 Small Boat Sailing Coach.
Growing up in New Hampshire and summering on Cape Cod sparked her sailing passion. She began with dinghies and progressed to coaching, leading young sailors in the Junior Olympics and across international waters.
In 2019, Catherine entered the yachting industry as the Director of Marketing for Sirocco Marine/BRIG USA, enhancing the experience for yachts including the “Axis.” Her switchover to yachting during the COVID-19 pandemic saw her work on distinguished vessels like M/Y X WAVE and M/Y Sea Axis.
Catherine’s career, reflecting her time in New England, the Caribbean, and as far as French Polynesia, is marked by notable achievements. French Polynesia remains her top yacht destination.
In her role as Chief Stewardess, she excels in making guests feel welcomed and at ease, aiming to make each charter the adventure of a lifetime. Catherine is not just about yachting; her dreams extend to earning her sommelier certification and venturing through an Atlantic crossing.
Her joys include walking, reading, beach trips, exploring wines, and cooking. Catherine lives by, “Buy the ticket, take the ride,” valuing the essence of new experiences and the excitement of life’s journey.
SECOND STEWARDESS LEANNE
Meet Leanne, our exceptional 2nd Stewardess on Sea Axis, a jewel among luxury yachts. From South Africa, Leanne’s service dedication is unmistakable. In just three months, she has significantly impacted passengers, ensuring their welcome feels second to none. With advanced marketing and holistic massage therapy certifications, she uniquely uplifts the guest experience.
Leanne transitioned from a successful marketing career to pursue her passion in the yachting industry, gathering notable experiences on yachts like Tatami and Lady B. Her fluency in English and Afrikaans, combined with her competitive swimming and dancing background, makes her adept at creating memorable interactions.
Currently making waves on Sea Axis, she’s instrumental in fostering a homely atmosphere onboard. Leanne finds joy in wakeboarding and paddleboarding and has a deep affection for the Bahamas. She dreams of exploring new countries and eventually running a bush lodge, aiming to recreate the familial warmth of Sea Antarctica with visitors globally.
Leanne embodies the adventurous spirit and pursuit of excellence synonymous with Sea Axis.
CHIEF ENGINEER JEROME
Jerome, hailing from the modest parish of Saint Andrew in southeast Jamaica, began his maritime career at 24. With a Class III/1 COC under his belt, he excelled in the merchant marine, serving as an Engineer officer across various cargo ships—bulk carriers, tankers, tug boats, container, and general cargo ships. Known for his calm demeanor and logical problem-solving skills, Jerome made a seamless transition to the yachting industry in 2017, where he applied his extensive engineering expertise.
DECKHAND CAMERON
Indiana native Cam, now embracing the sunny shores of South Florida at 19, has navigated the seas of yachting for 6 years. With a love for fitness, music, and quality time with loved ones, Cam is on a steadfast journey to captaincy. Everyday growth and a desire to uplift others anchor this voyage.
