Croatia Sample Itinerary 3 - Pula to Pula

Croatia is separated into several different cruising areas. Where and what islands you visit during your charter will depend on yacht speed, power or sail. The final route will be discussed with your captain and will be dependent on weather.

DAY 1
Pula to Cres
After getting acquainted with your yacht and crew, leave for your first destination on the island of Cres. Anchor in the beautiful bay at Lubenice Beach. This cove is located under Lubenice village, situated up on the hilltop. The beach is secluded and pristine and ideal for relaxation. It is difficult to get to by land so it makes for a quiet first stop. Enjoy a snorkel to experience the marine life and amazing rock formations. If you want to go ashore a walk the town takes around an hour. This small charming town offers quaint restaurants and cafes to sit back and relax in while you take in the views.
DAY 2
Mali Losinj
This picturesque town, located on the island of Losinj, is a true gem boasting stunning natural landscapes and rich history with a relaxed Mediterranean vibe. Walk the narrow winding streets, dotted with colorful houses, while taking in the wonderful smells of fresh local cuisine from the restaurants. Walk the promenade and enjoy a drink at one of the many open-air cafes and stop by the markets in the port selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Visit the Church of St. Martin and the Calvary for a taste of history. Not far from the promenade is a sea turtle rescue centre which is very educational for kids.
DAY 3
Rab
Known as the Happy Island, for its many beautiful sandy beaches, rich cultural heritage and vibrant food scene. Take in the sites in the charming old town of Rab which dates back more than 2,000 years and steeped in historical buildings. Visit the 4 Impressive bell towers, with their respective churches, that stand proud against the skyline. Be sure to try some Rab Cake made with almonds and maraschino liqueur. The original recipe is secret and is kept in the archives of the Benedictine Abbey of St Andrew of Rab.

Važminec Beach
Važminec Beach is nestled along the pristine coastline of Cres. This tranquil setting is the perfect place to relax in a peaceful retreat away from everything.
Swim in the crystal clear waters, paddleboard to shore or simply relax with a good book and soak up the warm Mediterranean sunshine, all while listening to the unspoilt nature that surrounds you.
DAY 6
Rovinj
Back to the mainland and to Rovinj, which was once an island separated by a narrow channel. 250 years ago it was filled in making it connected. The old town showcases what Rovinj was like when it was squeezed onto a tiny island. Walk the narrow cobbled streets winding through the tightly packed buildings and beautiful squares. Visit St Euphemia Cathedral, with a bell tower rising 61 meters high. From here there are wonderful views across the rooftops and onto the islands that surround.
DAY 7
National Park brijuni
The Brijuni Archipelago is a beautiful group of fourteen islands and inlets which form a National Park with the main island being Veliki Brijun. The islands are rich in flora, fauna and wildlife with nearly 700 local and exotic plants and 150 bird species. You will also find ostriches, peacocks, llamas, zebras and a sacred Indian cow which were all given as gifts to President Tito when Croatia was part of Yugoslavia. The most famous of the animals is elephant Lanka who came to the islands 50 years ago when she was 2. Her partner Sony unfortunately died in 2010. Visit the remains of an old Roman villa built in the 1st century BC and an old olive tree, thought to be 1,600 years old!
DAY 8
Pula
Stay in Pula for an extra day or 2 after disembarking your yacht. Pula is home to some impressive Roman ruins in this laidback cosmopolitan city. In the city itself, you must visit the Roman Amphitheatre which is home to many events throughout the summer. Pula is also a great base to visit further afield areas such as the Verudela Peninsula with its forests and beaches.
