What are the sailing highlights of the BVI?

After arriving in Tortola by either plane to the Beef Island Airport, or by a 45-minute scenic ferry ride from neighboring Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas, guests can enjoy strolling in the Nanny Cay Village, or Tortola’s main village of Road Town. Your yacht and crew will then meet you with a Caribbean cocktail and a gourmet lunch as you step onboard your floating luxury home for the week.

Norman Island

Hoist the sails and begin your adventure with a short sail tacking up and down the azure blue calm waters of the Sir Frances Drake Channel. Drop the anchor in either the bustling bay of The Bight or the secluded bay of Benures at Norman Island. Some of the best snorkeling in the BVI can be enjoyed at the world-famous Caves or more adventurous Indians. Pirates Beach bar shoots the cannon at 4 pm signaling happy hour cocktails on the beach and a quick stop at the party boat Willy T before heading back to the yacht for your first stunning dinner on board.

Peter & Cooper Island

After a restful first night’s sleep with the gentle movement of the waves, coffee and breakfast are served at your leisure. Try another snorkel on the point of Norman Island known as Angelfish Reef before setting sail for nearby Peter Island. After another glorious morning of sailing, the anchor will be dropped at Deadman’s Bay where you can enjoy the stunning beaches of The Peter Island Resort and Spa. Peter Island has lots of options for the afternoon. A great 5-mile loop walks around the island or relaxing massages at The Spa overlooking the waving palm trees of Reef Bay. If diving is your passion, take the boat ride over for an afternoon dive on one of the most famous wreck dives in the world on neighboring Salt Island – The Wreck of the Rhone. After this wonderful afternoon, the yacht will make its way to Cooper Island for the evening. Enjoy cocktails onboard watching the sunset from this glorious still bay.

Virgin Gorda

After you wake up and enjoy your morning coffee, enjoy a gentle snorkel on the shores of Cooper Island before setting sail to Virgin Gorda where you will be able to take in the rock formations of The Baths and the quaint main village of Spanish Town. After your adventure, a safari bus will take you over the top of Gorda Peak. This is the highest point on Virgin Gorda. There are spectacular views of BVI and on some days you can even see Anegada. Stop for lunch at Hog Heaven and enjoy the beautiful view of North Sound, where you will be spending the night at anchor. Yet another mouth-watering dinner will be prepared by your chef while you enjoy cocktails on board while watching another stunning sunset in the distance.

Anegada

After breakfast today you can enjoy walking around The Bitter End Yacht Club and Saba Rock before setting the sails for Anegada. After lunch on board, you will enjoy a relaxing day on the pristine deserted beaches of Anegada and a snorkel at the reef of Loblolly Bay. The safari taxi brings you back to the anchorage where the yacht is located. You will see the local fishermen bringing their fresh catch into the restaurants. Sunset brings the smell of local Anegada pinewood fires being started on the beach. Tonight offers you the wonderful opportunity to enjoy eating fresh Caribbean lobster under the stars with your feet in the sand. If you still have energy, you can enjoy the after-dinner dancing party in the warm night air.

The Dogs & Scrub Island

Today your morning sail takes you through The Dogs for snorkeling and lunch onboard the yacht. In the afternoon, your sail will bring you to the East side of Tortola. This area has many activities to be enjoyed – from the beaches of Marina Cay, Scrub Island, and Great Camanoe to the world-famous Trellis Bay full moon party – there is plenty to explore. Another spectacular sunset and dinner await onboard your floating luxury hotel.

Cane Garden Bay

The Northside of Tortola is known for its white-sand beaches and stunning surf. The sailing today takes you by this pristine and lush part of The British Virgin Islands. Along the way are spots for snorkeling and more water fun like Monkey Point and Muskmelon Bay. We’ll be making our way towards the island of Jost Van Dyke.

Your night’s anchorage is at Cane Garden Bay (photo: Khari Karter Adams) with sunset views of Jost Van Dyke. Here we will rest and rejuvenate for tomorrow’s final full day of fun.

White Bay, Jost van Dyke

This day brings you to the pristine white beach of White Bay, home of the Soggy Dollar Bar which originated the most famous Caribbean cocktail, The Painkiller. Ivan’s Stress-Free Bar, at the opposite end of the beach, gives you the perfect way to enjoy 2 world-famous beach bars. If you feel like continuing the party, Foxy’s in Great Harbor is the place for you for the evening. A quiet evening can also be found on Jost Van Dyke, near Little Jost Van Dyke to the east end of Jost Van Dyke. Enjoy your last sunset in the warm breeze of the Caribbean with a great gourmet dinner.

All the meals aboard your sailing charter catamaran

After coffee and breakfast, your professional crew will bring you to your departure point on Tortola where you will be waving goodbye until next time. You will remember all the good cuisine and want to return one day to do the same again.
