The Islands

There are six different regions: Cyclades, Ionian, Saronic, Aegean, Sporades and Dodecanese. Due to their proximity to Athens, the most popular areas are the Cyclades and Saronic Islands.

Each of the Island groups offers its own unique beauty and charm. From the windmills of Mykonos to the charming fishing villages of Poros.

The best time to visit Greece is between April and October, with the mid-summer months being most popular. What is the best time to go to Greece?

Itinerary

You will discuss the itinerary with your captain before your charter. Your captain knows the area well and will be able to take you to islands that will fulfil your desires. All itineraries are weather dependant and so are subject to change. Your captain will know where to go due to certain weather conditions – you will be in safe hands. View our sample Itineraries.

The Yacht

A crewed yacht is like a luxury floating hotel where each day you visit somewhere new to explore. With spacious cabins offering modern amenities, you can expect luxurious soft furnishings, ensuite bathrooms and beautiful views of the surrounding area. The exterior offers dining areas, as well as seating and sun pads on different levels to really relax and enjoy the warm Mediterranean sun. You can charter a sailing or power catamaran or a motor yacht. What is the process of booking a yacht charter in Greece?

The cost of a crewed yacht charter is calculated differently to an all-inclusive yacht charter in the Caribbean. Crewed yacht charters in Greece include the yacht hire and professional crew. An Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is then used to purchase all your food, drinks and fuel for your charter and VAT is added. What is included in my crewed yacht charter?

Crew

1st class service is the goal of your yacht crew, allowing you the time to enjoy all that a luxury vacation on a yacht has to offer. Your crew are experts, they have full responsibility for the vessel as well as your security and safety while onboard.

Your personal chef will prepare and serve all your culinary delights and with Greece having some of the freshest ingredients they are sure to be creative in the galley. Before your charter you will complete a preference sheet where you can list your likes, dislikes and any allergies you may have.

If you are satisfied with your charter you can show your satisfaction and appreciation by tipping the crew. Please note that crew gratuity varies between 10%-15% in Greece and is given to the captain at the end of the charter.

Water Sports

Yachts offer a wide variety of water sports equipment. Snorkel gear, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, and floating water toys for lounging in the water are available.

A variety of more fast-paced activities can be enjoyed behind the yacht’s fast tender including wake boarding, water skiing and tubing. Some larger yachts have E-Foil boards and jet skis.

History and Culture

While on your Greece crewed yacht charter you will have plenty of opportunity to capture the essence of Greek culture, hospitality and fresh local cuisine while exploring quintessential villages and traditional fishing communities. Step back into ancient history and discover Greek Mythology, ancient ruins and important archaeological sites. With over 200 inhabited islands, each with their own charm, the Greek Islands truly have something for everyone. Greece is a country with a rich history and vibrant culture that spans thousands of years, leaving behind extraordinary archaeological sites and artefacts. The islands in the Aegean Sea were important for trade and maritime activity making each individual island distict with its own story to tell. Visit some traditional tavernas, they’re a great way to indulge in authentic Greek food. Expect fresh fish, cured meats, homemade cheese, fresh bread, and seasonal vegetables. The Greeks are some of the kindest people on the planet, serving excellent food and drinks at inexpensive prices.

Plus Expenses or APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance)

The charter rate shown includes the use of the charter yacht, professional crew and onboard equipment.

All other daily expenses, that are not included in the base rate, will be covered with an Advanced Provisioning Payment (APA). This is collected before the charter commences.

APA expenses include fuel for both the yacht and tender, provisions, dockage, moorings, airport transfers, cruising permits and taxes, scuba diving and onshore excursions.

The APA payment is typically 20%-25% of the base charter rate for sailing yachts and 30%-35% for motor yachts. Your captain will purchase provisions, taxes, fuel etc for the charter using the APA and will keep all receipts along with a running log of expenses. This can be viewed at any time during your charter.

Any APA that has not been spent will be returned to you at the end of the charter. If during the charter, expenses exceed the APA, additional funds will need to be submitted. Your captain will update and advise you if any further payment is required. This will need to be paid before you disembark.

Crew Gratuity is separate and is typically 15%-20% of the charter rate. This should be given to your captain at the end of your charter.

The Best

We have been on many yachts and this was the very best crew we have ever had. Chef is an artistic genius - the food was amazing. Everything was fantastic. We would love to charter again with this wonderful crew.
