If you need accommodation before or after your yacht charter week, we are recommending a few hotels in St. Thomas (STT) for you to choose from so that you do not miss a day onboard.
Sometimes your flight is late and you wish to stay ashore before joining your charter the next day. You may even want to stay an extra night on St. Thomas to explore more of the Caribbean islands. The marina for yacht pickup varies between Yacht Haven Grande (Charlotte Amalie) or Red Hook on the East End.

7. Olga’s Fancy
Our charming inn is located on the shore of Charlotte Amalie Harbor, a stone’s throw from downtown Charlotte Amalie and the St. Thomas airport.
In reality, we’re not far from anything — the island is only 32 square miles — so be prepared to enjoy island life at its fullest from your base in Frenchtown!
One of the most colorful and safe neighborhoods on St. Thomas, Frenchtown is an eclectic enclave of restaurants, bars, quaint homes, businesses, museums and all kinds of entertainment. Choose your method of transportation from kayak, to seaplane, taxi, rental car, charter yacht, fishing charter or simply stroll along the waterfront to Charlotte Amalie.
Olga’s Fancy offers a bit of seclusion, perched on the hillside above the waterfront on the family property of Olga’s owners and operators, the Giovans. Each of the lovingly decorated, bright and clean guest rooms has a fabulous panoramic view of the bustling Harbor, and Hassel and Water Islands, and all the way to St. Croix on the horizon.
As our rooms are nestled along the hillside, there are some stairs. Each landing offers a respite if needed, such as our covered terrace and our salt water pool. We’re sure you’ll agree that the view is so worth those few extra steps!
8. Blackbeard’s Castle
Visit one of St. Thomas’s most famous historical sites. Situated on a hilltop, these 5 acres are known as “The Williamsburg of the Caribbean”.
You will see several National Landmark Properties and historical manor houses dating as far back as the late 1600’s. From here start your historic walking tour at your own pace. There is also an option for a guided tour. You will hear of the island’s pirate legacy as you visit Skytsborg Tower (originally a 17th century Danish military tower).
The view of the harbor is spectacular and a must see. Enjoy the view while taking a dip in one of Blackbeard’s three pools. Continue your tour down the hill through three breathtaking manor houses: Villa Notman, Haagensen House and Hotel 1829, all listed in the National Register of Historic Places. History comes alive as you view the world’s largest collection of life-sized pirate sculptures, crafted in copper and bronze. The historic homes house the world’s most extensive collection of authentic hand-made West Indian Mahogany furniture. Next you’ll pass by lush tropical gardens, terraces and fountains, and the 99 Steps, one of St. Thomas’ most famous landmarks. At the end of the tour you will find yourself on main street and the historic shopping district of Charlotte Amalie.
